Centre Clothes Corner

Providing a basic wardrobe of essential clothing to underprivileged children enrolled in Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), Centre Clothes Corner is the League's largest ongoing project since 1973. The Volunteer League is currently the only non-profit that provides the complete clothing needs of the LAUSD students grades from K-12.
Children are referred to us by PSA counselors and various mental health agencies.. Our coordinator, Robin Warren Siegel, then schedules appointments for the children on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. When they arrive at the League House, the children are greeted by members and volunteers of the Volunteer League. Each child is personally fitted with a new pair of athletic shoes and a school uniform consisting of two polo shirts, one pair of uniform pants, hoodie jacket and given underwear and socks, We also provide a backpack with essential toiletries and school supplies. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the children are also able to choose a new book, a toy, and additional gently used clothing items.
We are proud to have clothed over 2543 children from August 2018 through June 2019, and we are continually negotiating with current and new clothing vendors to procure fashionable, yet affordable, items for the children we serve. The Volunteer League is funded in this project by private companies, foundations and individuals. We do not receive any United Way or local government assistance.,
Please help us continue our mission in helping under served children in our community by providing them with basic clothing essentials to attend school with confidence and readiness to learn.. Thank you to all our generous donors from the Volunteer League. Together, we can Make a Difference!
