Nancy Hooker Scholarship

Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the auditions for the Nancy Hooker Memorial Scholarship were submitted by video and reviewed by the committee.  Two talented students were awarded scholarships this year.  The Nancy Hooker Memorial Scholarship granted since 1987, goes to Natalie Mendez, a mezzo soprano in her junior year at the Music Department of CSUN who aspires to teach music in public schools.  The second award was given to Michael Dager, a tenor in his sophomore year who hopes to reinvent the theater by bringing back classical theater that includes diversity.  The Volunteer League congratulates both of these promising and talented your artists.
