On December 1, 2017 our Holiday Luncheon at Lakeside Country Club in Burbank was held and the holiday spirit was enjoyed by all.  Our Choral Music Troopers entertained us with their fabulous performance along with this year's Nancy Hooker Scholarship recipient Angela Camacho.  Our Matching Funds Campaign is going strong and continues until the end of December 2017..  We are grateful to everyone who has donated at this time and most especially to our Anonymous Sustainer who has made this fundraising opportunity possible for the Volunteer League.  We wish everyone a Wonderful Holiday Season and a Happy New Year.

Wednesday, September 13, 2017 was a beautiful day for tennis at Braemar Country Club.  28 Players and 4 luncheon guests came out for our Second Annual Tennis Clinic with the Pros.  We had three courts of players enjoying fast paced drills, fun music and instruction from some of Braemar's best coaches.  Between entrance fees and a successful silent auction, we raised closed to $3,000 for Clothes Corner.  We look forward to planning this event again next year at Braemar's newly remodeled tennis facility in 2018.

Our traditional holiday luncheon at Lakeside Country Club in Burbank was on held on December 6, 2016.  It was also a special celebration in honor of Choral Music's 50th Anniversary.  A special recognition was given to sustaining members Anne Marie Sinclair and Betsy Welsh Steiner for their 50 years of service in Choral Music.  Our Nancy Hooker Scholarship recipient, Daniel Bellusci, performed a few songs and as well as our own Choral Music Troopers.  The Volunteer League is very proud of Choral Music's accomplishments through the years and the dedication of each Trooper from all the past years to the present.

On October 5, 2017 at Braemar Country Club, the Volunteer League held its first Tennis Clinic Fundraiser Event. There was 29 players in attendance for this fun filled morning event. The tennis clinic with the Braemar  Pros was followed  with the Queen of the Court and Ace a Price challenge.  Luncheon was enjoyed at the deck with an exhibition of play from the Pros and ending with an exciting raffle.  It was a successful event raising money and spreading the word about what we do in the community to a wonderful group of ladies some of whom have started volunteering at Clothes Corner.

A wonderful surprise and continued generosity from the Water Buffalo Club as the Volunteer League was presented with an additional $10,000 donation by Ara Oghoorian, John Saunders and Shelly Wood the General Meeting on February 17, 2015.  Thank you Water Buffalo Club for your continued support to the Volunteer League and the children of Clothes Corner!

Thank you to Pacoima Charter Elementary School for your ROCK THE SOCK Drive and donation of 1,800 pairs of wonderful socks for the children of Clothes Corner  on January 20, 2015.  The Volunteer League has helped numerous children from Pacoima Charter Elementary School and once again the Sock Drive was held to allow the children and families at the school to give back to the League and the community.

Thank you to the Water Buffalo Club for the Clothing Drive done for Clothes Corner.  Also, the Water Buffalo Club has provided Clothes Corner with the much needed funds this year to supply our shoes.  Thank you Marty and Rob for making the special truck load delivery.

Volunteer League members volunteered at the Motor4Toys event  on December 7, 2015 and received lots of toys for our Clothes Corner children.  These toys are availabe during the holiday week and through the spring.  Thank you to Dustin Troyan and Kathleen Doran for making this opportunity possible for the League.

On December  11, 2015 the Holiday Luncheon was once again held at the Lakeside Country Club in Burbank and the Troopers did not dissappoint to bring in the holiday cheers singing some oldies and goodies.  Our President, Betty Koondel, announced the amazing turn out of the Matching Funds Campaign.   The dontations recieved well exceeded the $10,000 amount and our generous sustainer member who made the initial donation continued to match this amount. We are so grateful for this opporutinity made possible by her generosity to raise much needed money for the underprivilleged children of Clothes Corner.
